Casting Crème Gloss - 645 Amber
Positives: This is a simple and easy dye to apply which left my hair feeling nourished and soft. I have used this brand before several times with great results. The colour stays healthy and consistent. I would recommend this particular brand to a friend.
Negatives: I would not recommend this particular colour to a friend. The colour on the box does not accurately represent the colour of this dye. Similar to the feedback from other reviews, I had been expecting a rich auburn colour and have now got a dull brown colour that I do not like. My natural hair is a blonde-brown similar to that shown within the colour guidance boxes on the side of the packet. Whilst the dye was developing, I noticed that it was more of a purple toned red than the expected copper tone; unfortunately having already applied half the bottle I didn't have the option of not using the colour.

Long lasting colour however colour looks nothing like it does on the box. I dyed my hair on Christmas Eve expecting a nice festive gingery look however the result was quite dark with more brown than red. The red that was there was more a mahogany colour as oppsoed to my interpretation of auburn gingery. Application wasnt that easy as bottle is quite difficult to get the colour out of however I managed. I probably would use casting creme gloss again however not in this shade, overall i think the dye itself is ok its just the shade wasnt accurate. My hair was a dark blonde when I dyed it and i actually prefer the colour now the dye has washed out over the past month.

I am a natural red head/auburn and this colour is perfect! It covers the grey and as it washes out I do not ever get that dreaded grey line. I have been using it for over 5 years now and am in my 50s.

I used many other Casting colours and they all washed out pretty fast, so perfect for temporary colour change. This time I wanted to go red.
Firstly, I was very dissapointed with colour effect - not amber, more like brown with hint of red.
Secondly, I wash my hair quite often and becaouse I hated the colour so much I was washing it everyday!!! I washed my hair more than 28 times (as it states on the box that this is how long it lasts) and the ugly red undertone was still there! I wanted to go back to my natural medium blonde, so dyed my hair anyway. The undertone still shows up! The dye I used to get back to blonde is not at fault there, cause it has always given me brilliant results. It is Casting! It doesn't wash off. Its not semi-permanent. Only use it if you are prepared for permanent change! Awful!

After having my hair coloured a beautiful copper red in the salon (a similar colour to the picture on this pack, after being a natural dark blonde), I decided to use this home colour to save money as the colour was fading quicker than I would like (almost back to my natural colour). This product was a huge disappointment, I would say that it has come out more of an auburn/ brown, there is hardly any red. There was actually even a hint of that purple red colour after I first coloured it, which is a colour I would NEVER choose. I suspect that where my hair appears most red is actually where there was red remaining from the salon colour. Basically, it does not resemble the colour on the box AT ALL and I am currently deeply unhappy with my hair colour. In addition to this, my hair isn't glossy and appears dry and very unhappy, even after I first coloured- usually after home dyes my hair looks very shiny and glossy for at least the first few washes. The bottle is also difficult to use, due to the shape of the bottle it becomes difficult to squeeze when wearing the gloves and the colour dripped everywhere. I am now shampooing a lot in the hope that this will wash out enough for me to try a different L'Oreal colour range (foam colour)- hopefully there will be more luck with that one!
