In January 2015, L’Oréal Paris launched its first ever international Make Up Designer competition, The Brush Contest. Thousands entered from the all over the globe, battling to win the ultimate reward: a one-year contract with L’Oréal Paris worth 100,000€.
The finale was held at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival where a three-day intense program for the finalists ensued. 11 contestants competed in make up challenges until just 5 remained. Eva Longoria hosted the grand finale event and our expert jury of world renowned professionals were tasked with crowing a winner.
Each finalist was paired with one of our stunning Ambassadors and international supermodels, Soo Joo Park, Lara Stone, Doutzen Kroes and Barbara Palvin, tasked with creating an inspirational Colour Obsession make up look. After the 45-minute challenge, it was time for the jury to deliberate on the contestants’ technical and creative skills.
Eva Longoria had the weighty task to announce the long awaited winner and proclaimed the new Make Up Designer to be Salima El Aliani from France.
