Usage

On clean skin, apply a small amount to the face and lips. Apply with dry finger and close product after use. Add warm water and gently massage in a circular motion, avoiding the eye area. Once the sugars have melted, rinse away with warm water. Use 3 times per week. Do not use on chapped lips or ingest.

The sugar dissolves fairly quickly so didn’t give my face a good scrub. Smells like turmeric and cumin a bit too (curry) Think the polished look everyone is referring to is possibly the oils in it, as opposed to your skin shining from the exfoliation. Will stick to my Clinic 7 day scrub that I was trying to find a cheaper alternative for.

It smooths onto skin nicely and has that scrub feel without being too harsh. I have combo skin which is also sensitive, and this makes my face instantly soft without any adverse reactions! I have used for a few weeks now (twice weekly) and can already see an improvement in skin texture and glow!

Once applied, you add warm water and massage in. The sugars are supposed to melt, but I still found it quite grainy after adding the water. It did leave me with very soft exfoliated skin, perfect for adding moisturiser. Smells really nice, not the chocolate smell I was expecting!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Jen from Smooth Sugar Glow Scrubs is designed to tackle dull skin and it is enriched with three fine sugars to deep yet gentle exfoilating and cleansing. It contains one hundred percent naturally derived exfoilants and also contains the hero ingredient, grapeseed oil. It is a brilliant oil (very suitable for combination to oily complexions), and it is very good at eliminating free radicals in your body to reboost skin cells for visibly radiant skin. You could use it on the face and lips. I don't use it on the lips as my lips are too sensitve. A bit of disclaimer - this scrub I'm talking about is not suitable for the sensitive/very sensitive skin in my opinion. In this scrub, there is a nice amount of Vitamin E (a lot of it) which is good for your skin as it will produce a radiant, illuminating and healthy skin. It is what you want in a scrub if you are going for a Glow scrub. It does what it say on the tin. The sugars in the Glow scrub will gradually dissolve when it comes in contact with water by using your hands to massage and activate the sugar to make sure it has dissolved competely. It is a good thing that nothing will go down the drain. Very environmentally friendly and I think that is a good thing for the environment. I don't think it is oily enough because I was not able to spread the scrub around my face evenly and smoothly, a little bit more oil wouldn't go amiss so that way the scrub can go on easily and be able to scrub my skin evenly and smoothly. The sugar scrub texture is a little bit harsh for my sensitive skin but it is tolerable because my skin liked the results it gave. If your skin is on the more sensitive side, you are better off using one of the other scrubs in this range.

I liked the texture of the scrub, it was very gentle and left my skin very soft. As to whether it'd be effective when my skin's going through it's dry stage and needs exfoliating, I don't know. Time will tell! You need a lot for your whole face so I can't see a pot lasting long, perhaps 3 applications which could prove pricey.

It does have a weird smell to it, hard to explain but i think this is pretty normal for a sugar scrub. It was my first time using a sugar scrub and i was extremely pleased with the outcome. I love that you can use this on the face and lips! I usually have a separate scrub for both so it's nice to get a two in one product. I really like that it left my skin feeling really smooth and i have noticed my skin looking brighter.

First off, I have to say I have a problem with most scrubs as I find them a bit too harsh and full of abrasive ingredients, so I generally love sugar scrubs as it means the sugar melts after awhile and there's less chance of you rubbing it in for too long or too hard (since the force should also cause the sugar to melt quicker). I found it was great for lips too (which I what I find I need to exfoliate the most, especially during cold weather). That aside, I loved the smell of it, it's meant to have a citrus fragrance that I personally thought was very light and I think I also caught a whiff of a sort of caramelised sugar smell, overall it was very yummy smelling and made it a pleasant and enjoyable facial pampering experience. The texture is as you'd expect a sugar scrub really, grittiness that comes from the sugars and also a slight moist/oiliness from the paste, nothing unpleasant. After using the product, I found my skin seemed clearer and more glowy, probably because the skin was better prepped to receive serums/moisturisers after. I do feel it's important to pamper your skin after an exfoliation and I wouldn't use it 3 times a week (as I feel that's a bit too much) but I did find that I really enjoyed using this at least weekly. I didn't feel it made my skin too dry or hurt, which is quite rare for an exfoliating scrub, so I thoroughly recommend this!

The scent is a little strong at first, but once it comes into contact with the warm water, it begins to carry a light scent of lemon verbena, which is lovely. After applying warm water to my face, the sugar just melts way as it gently buffs the dead skin cells away. Afterwards, my skin looked a lot brighter than before, and it had a nice flush of rose to my complexion. Some other scrubs I have tried in the past scratch at my skin and can cause irritations, but this one is kind and gentle and it doesn't hurt at all. I also tried it on my lips, and it has left them baby-soft. I love it!
