Usage

STEP 1 – BEFORE COLOURING: Remember to be colour safe and always do your patch test 48 hours before use, even if you have already used colouring products before. Please follow the instruction leaflet and read the safety information.

STEP 2 – PREP: Cover your shoulders with a towel and put on the gloves. Open the colouring bottle and pour it entirely into the developer bottle. Close with the applicator tip and shake it to obtain a completely even mixture. Twist off the applicator tip immediately to avoid bursting and damage from the product overflowing.

STEP 3 – APPLY COLOUR: Part your hair into small, even sections and apply the colour. Refer to instructions for development time. Apply conditioner and then rinse thoroughly.

A beautiful silver permanent colour

A beautiful silver permanent colour but you do need fairly light hair to start with to achieve it with this shade. It will also work for toning very light orange/yellow hair but not too a silver shade but more even blonde. I do like these vivid colours but find they can be a bit hit and miss with results. Like many dyes you need to be at least blonde to try these and it really needs to be virgin hair (No dye) or lightened with bleach as tint on tint will just give you a darker result. I found the silver only lasted around 3 weeks (I was twice a week for reference) and then faded to a white ashy blonde. My hair is lightened though so this could be due to porosity.

I had high hopes, i used it on my pre bleached blonde hair. In some parts worked well and gave a nice colour but most is blue! Even my roots havent taken to colour at all just slightly toned, to say my hair is a mess and a shambles and for the price im not impressed. I seriously hope that with a few shampoos it will sort out. To say my hair soft and smell ok. It was a very runny and messy product to use.

horrible do not buy

i have a peekaboo so my hair is half brown and half red and eveytime i brush my hair SO MUCH red is ripped out. im always gentle but no mater what the red gets extremely knotty it has completely ruined my hairs texture its horrible, while the colour is okay its much brighter red than shown on the box, i wouldnt recommend this to anyone unless you want your hair falling out 24/7.

Best hair dye ever!

I am using this one (9.23) for 5 years already. I am going to use this for the rest of my life I think:) it keeps my hair healthy, gives them healthy but beautiful shine and complex color that attracts attention yet looks natural. People always give me compliments about this hair color. I only wish this hair dye would be easier to buy in Ireland.

Lasts a while

I bought it for a Billie Eilish concert and it came out SO good. I dyed it in July and it’s still here in September, however I wash my hair 1-2 times a week which is prob why it’s still here (it’s pretty faint but you can tell it’s dyed). I would say my hair is dark brown (it does get lighter in the summer, though) so I think it turned out well considering, One thing I will say is it KILLED my hair. It became so dry and I had sooo many split ends after it was unreal and my hair was never like this before. Weird smell when actually dying but after it was dyed I couldn’t smell anything.

Didn't work at all

Tried this week. I have dark brown hair. Magnetic plum did absolutely nothing except make my hair a little shiny, which likely isn't going to last long. I wasn't expecting much, but this is a little ridiculous.

I am surprised how good it turned out

On an impulse last weekend I bought the cherry red and applied two boxes on my hair. After blow drying and looking in the mirror for the first time, I had a severe whooaaa reaction. It’s bright and VIVID. I’m happy with the result. Looking forward to see if it lasts for a few weeks… Cons: low viscosity (a bit difficult to apply and easily makes a mess), difficult to wash it out after application (but I used two boxes), keeps staining your towels when damp against best OCD-level efforts.

However, the colour result was definitely not what I expected. I started with strawberry blonde / ginger hair, and instead of a deep cherry red, it turned out bright pillar-box red — way more vibrant and bold than the box suggested. If you’re starting with natural red or light hair, just be aware this might come out much brighter than you think! That said, I do love the result — just a bit of a surprise!

I've tried most red dye over the years,this as by far given myself the best results ,after losing all my Hair in 2015 then due to how it grew i went a blonde for a while which then I grew out during lockdown & grew my hair long again but I had struggled with colouring ,saw this on Boots web site purchased and didn't think get results i have ; as can see from my photo, I'm constantly getting asked where had done and complimented on it ,some cant believe done myself out a box ;it as given my hair a lovely colour and shine ,couldn't be happier.

I’ve used two boxes this year, the resulting grey colour was lovely, but I’m now left with blonde hair, the ‘permanent’ grey has gone and left me with bleached blonde hair with an inch of natural grey. Completely NOT what I wanted. I use purple shampoos but they never turn the blonde gray enough.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jenchi from My New Permanent Hair Colour After trying the Blue Black shade from the same range and being very impressed with the result, but not happy with the shade which didn't suit my skin tone, I was very eager to try another shade. I have naturally soft black hair, which is greying. This hair dye range is definitely permanent. Overall, the difference in colour isn't noticeable, until you catch the sunlight, however where there were grey hairs there are now electric purple strands, which I really like. I have now redyed my hair three times with this shade and plan to keep using this shade for the immediate future. As a side note: my hair is nearly waist-length and I found one box surprisingly more than sufficient to cover all my hair. Also, I recommend a hair dye kit (bowl, brush, etc) to aid application.

I had intended to keep my hair natural, but was given the opportunity to try this product for free, and thought "why not?" First time ever dying my hair, I watched many YouTube tutorials in preparation for this experiment, despite the decent instructions. I bought hair dye kit (bowl, brush etc.), which I believe really helped with applying the dye. I found the application easy, if not messy, (my technique has improved since). The result kept my hair glossy and shiny. Overall, my hair just looked blacker, but where there were greys were now replaced by an electric royal blue. I can confirm the colour is permanent and though this shade did not suit my skin tone, I have now changed to Magnetic Plum from the same range and plan to keep using this product for the immediate future.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Izvire from NOT PURPLE I thought I'd found the perfect shade for my Med Brown hair. I followed the instructions but left an extra 10 mins as my hair can be resistant to dye. Once it was all dyed and I had dried my hair I was very disappointed to find it had more of a burgundy colour than the purple on the box. I had no previous colour in my hair, so that would not have been a factor in the result. I'm going to have to dye it another colour now.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Angelaviolet from Silver Grey I had pink hair and decided to go silver. After having roots bleached and removing pink with colour remover my hair was very pale straw colour. I applied th colour above and the end result was rather gun metal and looked blue, green and purple in various lights. This was before I shampooed it after 3 days, to give my hair time to recover. The final result was perfect.

This is my go to for bright red hair , other brands I’ve used in the past never come out brightest red does what it says on the box I’ve long hair and one box enough for coverage , others dyes never enough and conditioner leaves my hair soft and shiney , enough for another couple of washes to I don’t find Colour fades quick , I only re do when roots when they become too visible

It does a much better job of covering greys than other black hair dyes I've used. Other brands tend to dye the greys more of a dark brown colour but this leaves an even colour on the most stubborn greys. Like most black hair dye, it does transfer for quite a while after dying, especially if you sweat during your sleep. Therefore, i would recover using dark coloured pillowcases. Nonetheless, this is an excellent black that i will keep on using.

I naturally have dark hair but it was lightened already- box suggested it would be a vibrant purple but it made my hair look black. Super disappointed, I saw mixed reviews and decided to go with this dye but I would not recommend. Only wwould suggest using it if you want dark hair w the tinies hint of purple showing in bright light :(

I have dark brown hair and this came out very red - it looked liked I’d coloured my hair in with a red pen. Also the colour I takes forever to stop running out of your hair - I have washed it 7 times now and the water and shampoo when I wash my hair is still a reddy pinky colour and its still staining my towels when I dry my hair

Also it completely ruined the health of my hair. It felt dry and broken. I’ve been bleaching my hair for years but have never had it damage my hair like this red. So for that reason I will avoid it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Pandapop29 from Disappointed For those with red hair : For 2.5 years now I’ve dyed my hair in the Violet shade in this same collection, so my hair is quite red. However when I finally fancied a change, I thought this purple might work well. I don’t like bleaching or stripping my hair because of mistakes I’ve made doing this in the past. I figured that it was dark enough that it would take, but light enough that if it didnt take properly then chances are it would just be a bit more purple than it was before but still red. But what came out was something completely different. I’ve ended up with very very dark hair with a tinge of purple, and in the right lighting, it shifts from this dark brown slightly purple colour to the red I had on my hair before this. Although this colour didn’t turn out right for me (granted mostly because of my own ignorance) I thought this may be helpful for those with red hair in choosing their next colour. and even though this specific colour didn’t work, having used the violet for 2.5 years and never having an issue, I do recommend this line of dyes as a whole for their quality, durability, the smooth and shine of my hair, and the love it or leave it scent that I can’t help but love.

Roots lifted a lot quicker than rest of hair and even though it says permanent it did return very close to normal after about 6-8 weeks. Would use again and recommend x

My hair felt soft and nourished and it didn’t feel damaged at all. It was easy to apply, having long hair I could have probably done with 2 boxes but it covered it all. I had bleached hair to start with so the colour was as on the box.

My hair didn’t feel as dry as when I dye my hair using other brands, colour did well when applied over grey but did notice after a few washes it did slip. Loved the conditioner received with it as very nourishing. Colour as is on the box also

My pillow is covered in red dye, after a shower my hair towel is red, and just a few minutes after I cleansed my face and neck and the cotton wool turned red!

I don’t know what they’ve changed but the colour isn’t as vibrant doesn’t last as long and stains anything and everything long after it’s been washed out - include skin! Didn’t appreciate walking around town looking like a strawberry.

The colour was easy to apply, smelt ok. A little runny but I managed to apply easily. My hair was left amazingly soft with golden light rose coloured tones, a really amazing colour, the best colour I have ever used. It covered my darker shaded roots and greys beautifully. A totally professional toned down colour, no more yellow baby blond hair. I had masses of compliments and was looking forward to my colour for approx 8 weeks as stated ! I usually wash my hair twice a week and use a loreal colour stay shampoo. 3 washes and the colour had gone and I mean totally gone - I was left with a beige toned hair. I'm so disappointed Loreal where did my beautiful light rose gold colour go to ? I really wanted it back ! - what on earth, its states on the box, a permanent dye. Please loreal sort this out, as if it had not faded so quickly I would have given 10/10..

I have naturally medium brown hair and this brightens my hair to a vibrant red with no bleach which is amazing. It does fade so redying hair every 8 weeks or so is necessary, but my hair faded to quite a pretty reddish copper so I’m not mad. It leaves hair feeling soft, doesn’t smell too strongly and the gel is really good for being able to see where you have and haven’t applied due to on your hair. I love it!

Even my roots havent taken to colour at all just slightly toned, to say my hair is a mess and a shambles and for the price im not impressed. I seriously hope that with a few shampoos it will sort out. To say my hair soft and smell ok. It was a very runny and messy product to use.

It took me years to grow black hair dye out so I can experiment with brighter colours and now im straight back to square one. I brought this after reading the reviews but I'm very dissapointed and will definitely not buy again. I bought 2 boxes which cost £14. Waste of money and time.

When i washed out the dye my hair was very dark and I was worried but once my hair dried fully it was a light grey which was a relief.
