Elvive Colour Protect Conditioner

Now, one of the worst conditioners on the market They are actually putting SLS in the conditioner (which is a detergent) which will strip your hair of moisture and cause it to produce more oil, hence the feeling of greasy hair. They have also removed the coconut oil from it as well nad pumped a load of glycerin into it. It's making my hair hard to style and leaving it greasy by the end of the day. I used it for 20 plus years, but never again. I've tried numerous alternatives, and most of them are better than L'oreal, but still not the same.

I have been using loreal elvive shampoo and conditioner for over 20 years. Recently, my hair has been limp and greasy, and feels really oily. I've realised that it's because of the new formula conditioner. Please change back to the original formula, because sadly, I won't be using it again.

Have been using L'Oreal shampoo and conditioner for over 20 years. The new conditioner formula is awful, leaves my hair heavy, greasy and unmanageable, will not be using it again, so disappointed, really loved using these L'Oreal products all these years, will be using another one going forward, that suits my hair

Sadly I have to agree with the other reviewers. I have used this conditioner for years and wondered what had happened when I started a new bottle. My hair felt flat and lifeless and smelt overpoweringly of the conditioner. Sadly I had bought a large bottle which I will have to use up but in the meantime will be searching for a different conditioner. So, so, so disappointed.

I used this in February and didn't realise they had changed the formula .... at first I thought it was one of the other products I use but after a process of elimination I realised it was this conditioner ... it left a thick coating on my hair and it looked so greasy and was really hard to get a brush / comb through it ..... my daughter uses the same and it had the same effect on her hair and now she has changed to another product .... L'Oréal why did you have to change the formula ... surely after all the bad reviews you need to listen to your otherwise loyal customers .... I would never recommend this product to anyone now .... I still use the shampoo and now use the hair mask as a conditioner instead.

Please bring back the original quality. I've been using the Elvive colour protection shampoo and conditioner for years but unfortunatelly, recent Elvive shampoo&conditioner didn't go well with my hair. I'll have to try different product now. Sadly.

I have been using this shampoo and conditioner for at least 20 years, my hairdresser always amazed at the condition of my hair, but I can’t believe the difference with this new formula, not only does it leave my hair feeling sticky and greasy, but it’s making my scalp itch and leaving me with nasty scabbing spots, only just realised it was this causing the itching when I read the other reviews. If it wasn’t so difficult to get a GP appointment, I would have asked her to check if something was causing it i.e. medication. My husband is telling me to complain to L’Oréal. Why change something that was so perfect. I have spent the last 2 months, trying out alternatives, which is proving very difficult. I just binned all the bottles that I had purchased as I always buy them when they are on offer, as I wash my hair daily. Please bring back the original formula. I have rated 1 star, but it’s not deserved.

I have been using this product for years, I’ve just bought the new and improved formula one, and I have to say I’m disappointed in it. It leaves a coating on your hair, hair feels greasy and heavy. Luckily I had a bottle of a supermarket version, which I have to say is what I’ll be using from now on! You have a made a perfectly good product rubbish!

After using this product for over 20 year's its formula has been changed including the scent. Before it left my hair thick and healthy looking . Now my hair looks thin and I'm not convinced that it's protecting my hair colour after dying. The scent is way too strong and not remotely enjoyable. So all in all very disappointing and now need to find a new product.

This was the best conditioner ever! Sadly, it has been quietly reformulated and has been ruined. It leaves a coating on your hair that makes it look greasy. No amount of rinsing will remove it. After conditioning and drying, hair is left feeling like straw that is coated. After consistently buying this for over 10 years I am forced to look for an alternative as it is no longer doing what it used to do. It has gone from fab to cheap and nasty.

I actually never write reviews… however, had to with this. I love the product, much better for my hair type and I love the new scent. The scent stays in my hair as if it’s a hair perfume. Looking at the reviews they are really mixed… I guess it’s all down to personal preference. For me this is the best product to clean, enhance my colour and give a gorgeous smell throughout the day. I would recommend to just give it a try.

Why would you change a formula that works?? The scent of the conditioner is what made me keep choosing it over other brands, the fact it worked well as a conditioner was an added bonus. Now neither of these things is true. The new smell is horrible, the new formula heavy and greasy. I don’t feel like I’ve washed it all out of my hair no matter how long I wash it in the shower for. I used to tell my boyfriend if there was a perfume of the conditioner I’d buy it, and got friends to smell my hair to see how nice it was. No chance of that happening now. I find it really sneaky that the brand changed the formula so completely and yet kept it as the same product, despite it being totally different. There was no indication of a new formula anywhere, no label on the bottle or shelf, no announcement in any ads etc. just a slight colour change of the bottle. That to me says you know the product is inferior and are trying to hide it, to convince customers that it’s the same. I used to recommend the product to my friends, now I’m going to warn them off and tell them to spend their money elsewhere. I certainly won’t be buying this product, or any others, again. No point, since if I like something it’ll probably end up being changed anyway!

I have used this product for 10 years! Always complemented for how my hair looks healthy and shiny and smells amazing. Now you've changed the formula! The conditioner leaves your hair feeling heavy, greasy and smells like really strong cheap perfume instead of the fruity scent it use to leave. Why change something that was perfect for so many people. Everyone I know who has used this product for years are all saying the same thing. I was praying that it was just a bad batch but in every shop I've tried to purchase the new formula bottles, it's the same horrible product. The shampoo is now really watery and super thin. Feels like washing your hair in fairly liquid. Please change back to the formula that has kept all your loyal customers happy. I'm now looking for alternatives.

I used the colour protect shampoo and conditioner for years. People would always say how healthy my hair looked and how I had such awesome natural colour. The formula has now changed, and I can't stand this product anymore. It leaves me hair feeling horrible and greasy, along with a rather strong smell. A few other Loreal shampoo/conditioners have also had their formulas changed recently, and sadly none of which are improved in any way. No idea what L'Oreal were thinking.

Have used this shampoo & conditioner for at least 15 years however the product has been revamped. I won’t be using it again my hair just doesn’t look or feel the same. In my opinion it is not as good as it was. Very sad to have to say this.

For 10+ years I have used the colour protect shampoo and conditioner but now you have changed it and it’s not good at all! My hair used to be soft and shiny but now it dull and and leaves my hair stiff even though I spend ages making sure it is thoroughly washed out. I will not be buying it again which is unfortunate. I hope you change it back in the future!

I have been colouring my hair for many years now and I always use this conditioner. It smells great and helps my colour to stay longer. My hair looks healthy and vibrant. It is so good! I have repurchased it many times over the years.
