Volume Million Lashes Balm Brown Volumising Mascara

Im not sure why this mascara gets such bad reviews! It is a really lovely mascara! Let me explain as it takes a bit of finessing to get the most out of this product! Its a nice brown shade that is still quite dark but isn't as bold as a true black mascara giving a really natural but defined look. The wand is thin and tapered which allows me to get super close to the roots of ALL the lashes to build length. This shape enables me to rarely smudge on the lid or lashline. If i do get a bit on the lid or lashline, it dries pretty quick and easily buffs off with a cotton bud/Qtip without effecting the shadow underneath. It has staying power all day but having mistakes easily buff off is a really great quality of this mascara and is testament to a really elegant formula that will appeal to a makeup lover and be user friendly to a beginner. The name volume million lends to the thinking that this is a volume enhancing mascara. It is not. I don't think this product adds volume but it does add a bit of length if applied close to the roots and with a good curl before application. Its more of a natural mascara which is really what I'm after and if this is what you are after then you will love it too. Because i like quite natural lashes, i found that the wand picks up a bit too much product so what i do is apply a little to one eye, turn the wand, then apply the rest on the other eye and then use the wand which should have nearly no product by this point to just disperse the product over both eyes. This ensures no overapplication of product and thus NO clumping resulting in beautifully fanned out lashes and a natural finish. I would imagine that if i used a fully loaded wand on just one eye, there would be too much product and this over application would likely cause the clumping and flaking others report. Thin layers definitely works for this mascara and despite a thin layer it will stay all day! It is very rare to finish a mascara because it dries up before every last bit can be used but i have found this mascara is a fairly wet formula compared to others i have tried and i have been able to use every last drop of this product and haven't found that it has dried much in the tube over time. If you use setting spray i would recommend that you use this to set your makeup first before applying mascara as a setting spray depending on its formula may cause a mascara formula to break down a little and cause smudging, flaking or effect the wear time. Also id like to add that i dont use lash primer so if you found you're having problems, cut out the primer, gently warm your lash curler with a hair dryer (NOT TOO HOT!!!!) to set a better curl and only use the mascara and it should be all good. Ive would have given 4 stars purely because it doesnt add volume when this product says it should and that the wand picks up too much product. But with a bit of finesse i find this mascara perfect and better than so many others i have tried so will give 5 stars!! I think it is an elegant formula for beautiful natural lashes that wear all day, is user friendly where the wand shape is great and it buffs off easily if mistakes are made. Just fab! I don't see the need for me to use any other mascara so will be repurchasing again and again!

Good brown mascara for true summers, last all day with a natural finish

Extremely disappointed as I thought it was the regular Brown Volume Million Lashes mascara I’ve been using for a long time in new packaging. I saw both the wand and the mascara itself are completely different and very bad quality. The wand is much slimmer so does a very bad job shaping the lashes. The mascara is so sticky and clumpy that pieces get into your eye when applying. I’ll try to return it.

Really good mascara, good brush and it comes in BROWN! .To many black mascaras not enough brown on the market.

I bought this the other day and I’ve tried it twice, both times it has gone on too thick and clumpy even when I’ve removed excess product from the brush. The first time I wore it, when I got home I noticed it had smudged underneath my eyes. So disappointed, I have used the regular volume million lashes and loved it but when I saw this was ‘brown’ I thought I’d hit the jackpot. It’s not brown. Looks like black when applied. Do not buy

I was really disappointed with the quality of this new Loreal mascara. I tried to find good brown mascara, but it isn't this mascara. It is too flaking and at the end of the day, I start to look like a panda. I don't recommend it.
