Usage
STEP 1 – BEFORE COLOURING: Remember to be colour safe and always do your patch test 48 hours before use, even if you have already used colouring products before. Please follow the instruction leaflet and read the safety information.
STEP 2 – PREP: Cover your shoulders with a towel and put on the gloves. Open the colouring bottle and pour it entirely into the developer bottle. Close with the applicator tip and shake it to obtain a completely even mixture. Twist off the applicator tip immediately to avoid bursting and damage from the product overflowing.
STEP 3 – APPLY COLOUR: Part your hair into small, even sections and apply the colour. Refer to instructions for development time. Apply conditioner and then rinse thoroughly.

A beautiful silver permanent colour

A beautiful silver permanent colour but you do need fairly light hair to start with to achieve it with this shade. It will also work for toning very light orange/yellow hair but not too a silver shade but more even blonde. I do like these vivid colours but find they can be a bit hit and miss with results. Like many dyes you need to be at least blonde to try these and it really needs to be virgin hair (No dye) or lightened with bleach as tint on tint will just give you a darker result. I found the silver only lasted around 3 weeks (I was twice a week for reference) and then faded to a white ashy blonde. My hair is lightened though so this could be due to porosity.

I had high hopes, i used it on my pre bleached blonde hair. In some parts worked well and gave a nice colour but most is blue! Even my roots havent taken to colour at all just slightly toned, to say my hair is a mess and a shambles and for the price im not impressed. I seriously hope that with a few shampoos it will sort out. To say my hair soft and smell ok. It was a very runny and messy product to use.

I am using this one (9.23) for 5 years already. I am going to use this for the rest of my life I think:) it keeps my hair healthy, gives them healthy but beautiful shine and complex color that attracts attention yet looks natural. People always give me compliments about this hair color. I only wish this hair dye would be easier to buy in Ireland.

Lasts a while

I bought it for a Billie Eilish concert and it came out SO good. I dyed it in July and it’s still here in September, however I wash my hair 1-2 times a week which is prob why it’s still here (it’s pretty faint but you can tell it’s dyed). I would say my hair is dark brown (it does get lighter in the summer, though) so I think it turned out well considering,
One thing I will say is it KILLED my hair. It became so dry and I had sooo many split ends after it was unreal and my hair was never like this before. Weird smell when actually dying but after it was dyed I couldn’t smell anything.

Didn't work at all

Tried this week. I have dark brown hair. Magnetic plum did absolutely nothing except make my hair a little shiny, which likely isn't going to last long. I wasn't expecting much, but this is a little ridiculous.

I am surprised how good it turned out

On an impulse last weekend I bought the cherry red and applied two boxes on my hair. After blow drying and looking in the mirror for the first time, I had a severe whooaaa reaction. It’s bright and VIVID. I’m happy with the result. Looking forward to see if it lasts for a few weeks…
Cons: low viscosity (a bit difficult to apply and easily makes a mess), difficult to wash it out after application (but I used two boxes), keeps staining your towels when damp against best OCD-level efforts.

Worse dye I’ve brought

I brought this hair dye 2 days ago I was dying my hair yesterday night it completely beached my roots my hair is not red at all it’s just gone a 2p coin colour what ever was in it sent burning sensations all over my scalp I’m very disappointed in this as everyone said it was a good product don’t waste your money

This ruined my daughter’s hair. My daughter wanted purple hair (the vivid range) and we pre lightened to a light brown like the pack suggested (blonde is not advised on the packet, her hair colour is the shade of light brown, as advised). The pack shows a vivid purple from light brown hair but that’s not the case! Her hair has turned a dark brown, black with a shimmer of purple in the light! I am absolutley fuming! Will never buy L’Oréal again.

I have dyed my hair red with a lot of different brands. The colour transfer for this one is ridiculous. Fair enough if there is colour bleeding when my hair is wet, but even when it was dry I would run my fingers through it and have bright red finger tips, and my neck was stained from just having my hair down. This lasted 2 weeks which by that point the dye had mostly washed out and left an orangey tone behind. Do not recommend, it is far too much hassle for less than mediocre results

I've tried most red dye over the years,this as by far given myself the best results ,after losing all my Hair in 2015 then due to how it grew i went a blonde for a while which then I grew out during lockdown & grew my hair long again but I had struggled with colouring ,saw this on Boots web site purchased and didn't think get results i have ; as can see from my photo, I'm constantly getting asked where had done and complimented on it ,some cant believe done myself out a box ;it as given my hair a lovely colour and shine ,couldn't be happier.

It’s a really good bright red- you get a lot ( I have very thick hair just past my shoulders ans it only took 2 bottles) and the conditioner you get with it is really good! Only thing you’ve got to watch for is if you’ve coloured your hair before and have quite light natural hair and greys coming in- you’ll get bright red roots and darker lengths.

Major colour transfer

Lovely colour but the transfer is insane. Every time I ran my hands through my hair it stained my hands my pillow cases got stained. I had to use an old black tshirt over a family members pillow case as it transferd just from laying on it for 5mins. Wouldn't recommend also only lasted just over a week before it started to turn orange. Water never runs clear.

Darker than expected

Bought this last week for my very light almost white hair and it came out a lot darker than I expected with a purple tinge to it ...it lost some of the purple after the next shampoo though and did cover my hair well .I used two boxes and it did a great job of conditioning my hair is lovely soft and shiny

Silver grey review.

I bought the silver grey dye at the beginning of the year to get rid of the yellow tones in my natural salt and pepper hair. I’ve used two boxes this year, the resulting grey colour was lovely, but I’m now left with blonde hair, the ‘permanent’ grey has gone and left me with bleached blonde hair with an inch of natural grey. Completely NOT what I wanted. I use purple shampoos but they never turn the blonde gray enough.

Stunning colour that gave me so much confidence. I got a lot of compliments with this hair colour. Its very easy to use, has excellent coverage and looks like a professional has done my hair. The instructions are easy to follow. The smell isnt bad either compared to others ive used in the past

would have been great but my god my whole body is tinted red. it’s all over my pillow cases and any surface i touch after touching my head gets stained! i scared to find out how long this torture will continue, i just want my normal skin tone back please. it’s not even drying up and staining, it’s like oil paint that keeps smearing. testing the product before use wouldn’t have even saved me.

Nice color but transfers onto everything

Love the colour on my hair, gives a nice shine to my hair. However, hate how it is still transferring. My neck and face are constantly red. Anytime I rub oil through my hair, my hands are all red. My clothes are dying red, my pillow cases even my hair towel after washing is red.

Says it’s only changed the name, definitely seems to have changed the product to me! Still using as it is just as bright - but unfortunately, it now seems like one of the more temporary vivid colours. Hands are stained on every single wash for couple of weeks, with the colour fading to ginger not long there after. Shame as it was my go to product for years.

I have very thick curly hair so unfortunately one box was not enough. How ever I did give it to my sister how has thin hair and the colour was lovely on her dark brown hair. Nice smell and easy to use

Transfer of colour is a pain

I’ve used this for a few years now, in the old and newer form. The red is lovely, but it washes out fast. 2 washes for me and it needs refreshing. The thing I really hate is how much it transfers onto other things. I know all reds do this, but this is the worst. If I tie my hair in a bobble I have to wash all the red off my hands. I’m sure it goes onto my face as well.

I never write reviews but I’ve used this hair dye for about a year now. I absolutely love the colour that it dyes it to begin with but it fades really quickly and it also transfers onto absolutely everything! Your pillow, hands, clothes and even my baby was covered in it! Every time I say I’m not going to get it again but keep forgetting how bad it is for transfer and get it again! I will be going back to live, the colour isn’t quite as nice but the transfer is a lot better.

Love this colour. I love bright vivid colours on my hsir and this was great. It looked nice, smelt nice and left my hair shiny and moisurised. The red lasted fir quire a while before the colour felt it needed refreshing.

Loved the colour

Beautiful pastel pink colour, so easy to apply and smells pleasant unlike others tried before. Colour lasted well and hair felt lovely and conditioned. Loved this pastel colour looked amazing and many compliments

Easy to apply

Such a lovely colour, the dye is sting and cover all white/grey hair. Easy to apply, smell isn't strong. After washing the hair is very smooth and shiny. Very happy with final result, colour, smoothness and shines.

My New Permanent Hair Colour

After trying the Blue Black shade from the same range and being very impressed with the result, but not happy with the shade which didn't suit my skin tone, I was very eager to try another shade.
I have naturally soft black hair, which is greying. This hair dye range is definitely permanent. Overall, the difference in colour isn't noticeable, until you catch the sunlight, however where there were grey hairs there are now electric purple strands, which I really like.
I have now redyed my hair three times with this shade and plan to keep using this shade for the immediate future.
As a side note: my hair is nearly waist-length and I found one box surprisingly more than sufficient to cover all my hair.
Also, I recommend a hair dye kit (bowl, brush, etc) to aid application.

Right Product, Wrong Shade (For Me)

My hair is naturally soft black but starting to grey, especially noticeable around the hairline. I had intended to keep my hair natural, but was given the opportunity to try this product for free, and thought "why not?"
First time ever dying my hair, I watched many YouTube tutorials in preparation for this experiment, despite the decent instructions.
I bought hair dye kit (bowl, brush etc.), which I believe really helped with applying the dye.
I found the application easy, if not messy, (my technique has improved since).
The result kept my hair glossy and shiny. Overall, my hair just looked blacker, but where there were greys were now replaced by an electric royal blue.
I can confirm the colour is permanent and though this shade did not suit my skin tone, I have now changed to Magnetic Plum from the same range and plan to keep using this product for the immediate future.
