Have been using Casting for years and always happy with the result but the change of formula over past few months is causing my scalp to feel really irritated once I put the dye in my hair it starts getting itchy within a couple of minutes. Unfortunately I will have to stop using it. Please L’Oréal bring back the old formula.

The new formulation is awful! It’s thinner than the original version and drips everywhere during application. I bought 513, which looks medium/dark brown on the box, but which has turned my hair a horrible harsh black. I used to really like this product but won’t be buying any more!

I have used Light Brown creme gloss for years and have always been really pleased with the result. I dyed my hair today in preparation for going on holiday in 2 days and the colours is completely different. It is a really dark, almost black colour and I look awful. I have washed it 3 times today to try and tone it down but it's not changing. It always used to look natural but just looks like a bad dye job. I'm so upset that it will look so awful on holiday.

I dyed my hair with Iced Truffle two days ago. I thought I was being super cautious going for a medium brown as I wanted a cool chocolate brown and know they always come out darker… my hair is basically black. The difference is hysterical. At least the conditioner is gorgeous smelling…

Terrible new formula

I recently used the new formula for colour 306. It's made my hair really brassy and seems to have dyed it rather than just colouring it. It's not washing out, it just gets more orange with each wash. Bring back the old formula please. It was a great product. The new formula is terrible and I won't risk using it again.

I've used this colour three times now and every time I am happy with the outcome! The colour you get is beautiful! Every time I use this product I get many compliments! However, the disadvantage is that the colour doesn't last that long. They say it should last for 28 shampoos, and with me it lasts for much less. The last time I dyed my hair using this product it only lasted for two weeks.

I like the tone of the Mahogany, however it does not to a great job of covering my grey patch of hair. I have been left with almost pink strands in places.
The application of the dye is made easy due the clever bottle design as it is effective in helping to separate the hair during the application process, but hamper by the gloves which I had to squeeze on my average size hands.
I was not left feeling overly impressed with this product.

Been using this hair dye for years and have always been really happy. Got confused looking for medium brown now though as it is now called 500 Light Brown. Be careful as it is not , it is medium brown. Their new conditioner does not work for my hair. It left it frizzy and hard to style. The previous honey conditioner was so much better. I wish they had left the previous hair dye alone .

I used Mahogany when I was like 15 on my virgin dark brown hair and it looked exactly like the colour on the box
But 8 years later I use it on bleached + dyed auburn hair (it was a level 5 as well), and it came out looking purple, not sure why

I have used 513 Iced Truffle for years and loved it but sadly the formula must have changed because suddenly I appear to have almost black hair - desperately trying to find another shade but have had to go much lighter to counteract the dark..

My very light brown transformed into something closer to the shade '5102 Cool Mocha'
I later realised you're supposed to dye on unwashed damp hair... Whoops!

Beautiful colour… I love Casting because it’s fuss free, it rinses easily no head stain and my hair looks and feels healthy.
I’ve had various colours over the years. Yes they can in the first instance go dark… the lift only takes place in Sun and washing. Also it depends on your current colour… if in doubt go to the lighter shade or do a strand test.

Easy to use, good colour but not for greys

Colour- I used 'Iced Truffle 513'. It does come out darker than the box colour, but I wanted my hair dark again so I am happy with it. I would say go a shade lighter if you really don't want a dark colour. It does fade slightly with every wash, but after 2 and half months the colour was still looking nice and not too brassy as I used to cover old balayage.
Use - Easy to use, gloves are a bit tight and one pair ripped. I needed to use two boxes for full coverage, but my hair is fairly long and quite thick.
Grey coverage- not great, if you are looking to cover a substantial amount of grey hair I would avoid this product. My greys are slightly less obvious but still visible.
Overall I am happy with how the colour turned out and I have used it twice now. It is very easy to work with and left my hair feeling and looking good.

This has saved me from looking ancient during lockdown with no hairdressers. It's easy to use, pretty good coverage, and leaves your hair feeling really soft and looking really shiny.
I am allergic to lots of things and most hair dye stains my pale skin terribly (always shocks the hairdressers). I am neither allergic to this, nor do I get terrible stained skin.
I've seen the bad reviews....not sure why you would complain that a brown hair dye has turned your hair brown. It kind of says it on the box.
If you have dark brown hair and want to keep the grey at bay, I think this is a pretty good choice.

Love this hair dye, it covers all greys really well! It can go a bit dark if you have very porous hair but it works well for me

I bought this to cover a few greys. Followed instructions and the dye did not take - no change in hair colour AND my greys were still visible. First time using Casting (long time home colouring experience) so won’t be using again.

Disappointing way too dark

Bought this expecting it to be every so slightly darker then my natural colour. My hair is almost black and dull and flat. Looks awful very disappointing. Plus the gloves are ridiculously small.
