Absolutely horrible, I honestly could cry at the colour result. Supposed to be an iced chocolate, but my hair has turned out jet black after only 20 minutes developing time. I’ve got long brunette hair, which is in excellent condition, it’s not dry in any way. But this hair colour does not resemble photo on product box, nor product name.

Used this colour for year and years but the new formula is just not the same - as well as the colour itself being different, the new formula dyes my scalp and makes it itch. Bring back the old formula!

I'm a L'Oréal girl when it comes to hair , have been loyal to my brand and always will be , because I'm worth it !! I have been using / recommending Creme Castings since L'Oréal created Dia Coloure back in the early Richese days . Time moves on ingredients change in keeping with the modern sustainability, external pressures to manufacture a worldwide product that minimises harm to our environment, L'Oréal has rerelased our beloved formula with the promise of shinier hair with the new buzzword ingredient Glycolic acid , which appealing as it sounds , now comes with a new technology product line that we more or less have to buy into also , if you dream of shinier more stable glossy hair . So in effect we now have an inferior less stable desired result gloss colour that forces you to invest in the shampoo and conditioner and treatment to try and emulate the perfect colour we have had for years , as the new refreshed formula is highly problematic to say the least So the power of the glossy new marketing hype is overall still appealing as who doesn't want shiny reflective colour , we have invested our trust in our brand to deliver 3/4 of product users are immediately struggling with this gloss hype marketing, we never asked for a better product with more benefits we just want the tried and true formula we have been loyal to that delivered beautiful shimmering tonal colour that was easy to apply/ remove and did indeed last 28 washes The new formula is unstable , horrible to remove , and impossible to achieve 28 washes as to begin with day one the base shade is now matte blanket dark with poor uneven coverage and hair left feeling like straw , then apply the new glycolic rinse out conditioner which then glossed over the Matt dry monotone hue so it looks shiny Which it does , but underneath the hype we try to avoid the mirror as we don't know what we are going to do to try and make this work So we then have to formulate a new troubleshooting plan and next time purchase the shade above alongside our regular shade and add a dab of the lighter shade to the mix to try to counteract the new #5 from looking like a #4 which of course does not work as you then need corrective undertone added and is far too complex for someone whom just wants the end result to be exactly what they have bought for years that worked so beautifully Not sure how you save this , maybe in the hope the new younger purchaser will buy into the glossier than ever before colour and that way can dispose of the regular loyal consumer who can no longer get this product to work on their hair Out with the old customer in with the new

The new changes of 200 ebony black is not good, it's new smell is making irritation, and colour also not giving original. Please change it back to old one

Used to use this all the time , last two have been awful , changed the product for the worse . My hair is now dull after colouring and colour looks just awful . Why on earth do you keep changing things that have nothing wrong with them ? Will have to find another brand due to the horrid change and I’m sure I won’t be the only one .

I have used C C G for about 10 years. It used to be wonderful , leaving my hair shiny and very natural looking blending the odd grey hair. But!!!! It's changed!!!!!.for the worse. It's much drippier and messy to apply and it makes my hair colour flat and much darker than before. I'm naturally dark brown with hints of red on the summer. Now I look like I've put brown/black powder paint on my hair. It is lifeless and dull. I tried several shades in the hope of getting one that worked. Nope. I give up with such disappointment.

I used the Medium Brown 600 colour for years – it had a rich vibrant tone while not being overly dark. I was dismayed to find it had been replaced with Dark Blonde 600 – not the same colour at all, flatter and duller with a gingery note. Now, confusingly, Medium Brown 600 on the shelves again (new formula) but it is really the Dark blonde product, still a duller, lighter shade. The new conditioner doesn’t leave hair glossy, but dull and matt looking. Why mess with a great popular product? Please bring back the original Med Brown 600. Look at how the reviews have fallen off a cliff.

I wanted to dye my hair back to my natural color because it was blond but it turned out BLACK instead of brown.

I have used 454 Chocolate Brownie for years and loved the colour - it's a perfect glossy rich brown with red...but the new goji brown (still 454) is not the same! All red and no deep rich brown! I've tried so many others since the change and can't find anything that comes close to the same colour - please please bring chocolate brownie back!

I really hope you will drop this new formula and revert to the original one that I've been using for the past 25 years. I always had so many compliments on my hair and I recommended Casting Creme Gloss to all my friends. Not now though, this new one is horrible. Half way through doing my roots the product congealed inside the bottle and there was no getting it out to complete the job, I had to open a new box so it cost me twice what it should have. This has happened the two last times I've used this product. As others have said it doesn't cover the grey very well and the condition it leaves your hair in is not acceptable. I've now got to find an alternative. Please, please go back to the original formula it, was so easy to use and the results were really very good. This new formula is awful, I'd give it zero stars if I could.

I have used this product (with the picture of honey) for years. I used the new product and boy does it sting my scalp! My hairdresser even tried the wholesale version as she felt it had not changed but it was worse and I came out in a rash when I washed it off in the shower. Also, it didn't last as long as usual. I'm so disappointed. I now have to run the gauntlet of other brands. :-(

Why has this hair colour Castings Medium Brown still advertised online as it has been discontinued and replaced by Castings Brown 400 which is as dark brown colour rather than medium brown.

I have used 454 chocolate brownie for several years, I was very happy with it.some months ago 454 became Gigi brown. The colour is now more orange, the conditioner does not leave hair soft and silky like the old formula. Probably the worst thing is the colour transfers onto pillowcases & jacket collars, very disappointed. Please bring back the old formula, I am currently looking for a different hair dye.

I have used casting for years with great results. All of a sudden they changed the formula and it is definitely not as good. Not the same glossy finish to my hair. And definitely does not last as long. Will be looking for a different colour for my hair

I just dyed my hair yesterday in shadr 316, and everything was okay up until the point where i washed it out. Firstly, the water kept coming out pink despite me showering thrice. And when I dried it, a lot of hair fell off. Like each time I would comb it, more would come out. It was my first time dyeing hair so it had a slight burning sensation but it was very mild. The color turned out nice on my dark brown hair, and it appeared well on the sun, as well as made my hair very shiny. I'd rate it a 2.5.

I have used this for years since it was £3.50 or 2 for £5 My hair used to feel so soft and moisturised but now it is hard and dry and washes out in no time. Also why change the shade but keep the old number. I knew my number, bought a couple and now late 60's and looking like dark brown to ginger instead of dark blonde. What the dickens has happened to this product?

I've been using this dye for a few years and it was really good, now the new version is so bad (it dries and damages my hair so much) that I will never use it again.

Loved the old version which I've used for a few years now - casting creme light brown which is now called dark blonde. Upon first application with the new formula it is a nice light brown and then after one wash it has completely washed out and is ginger in colour. The process has changed too where you have to do the roots first for 15mins and the lengths for the last 5mins which is such a faff and never even in colour. I tried it twice just incase it was me but same result. I am now looking for a new hair dye as it is a complete waste of time. I contacted customer services who just said have you thought about trying a darker colour for the summer!! The light brown actually comes out black so no thank you unless I want to look like dennis the menace!! Really disappointing - Please bring back the old version or risk losing a huge amount of sales based on recent reviews.

Like others have said, the changes to the product are not good. The colour is much lighter and my hair is breaking much more than previously and the new conditioner is terrible. Please revert back to the previous product. 🙏🏻

I used chocolate truffle for many years no problems now since it has been discontinued I have tried 3 different ones and all have dripped down my neck and face so very disappointed please bring back the old formula and colour before I try another make

Having used L'Oreal Casting for over a decade I was always very happy with both the colour I chose, and the condition of my hair after application. I cannot say the same about the new formula. First of all I had to contact L'Oreal Customer Services to ask about the colour number changes. I was advised to go by the number and not the colour, which I did. However, after application my hair came out much darker than when I had used Light Brown of the old formula. Worst of all the new formula has has completely changed the texture of my hair after just one application, resulting in it being much drier. I have bought several conditioners, including a leave-in one to try and improve the condition of my hair, and yet still my hair is very dry. Totally disappointed!

The most beautiful colour and it is so easy to apply. Everyone thinks it is my natural hair colour! It stays on for a long time and doesn't wash out easily unlike other brands. I love both this range and shade sooo much!
