Not “temporary”

I bought this for fun to dye my hair for summer due to the advertisement of “TEMPORARY hair dye” - its now been about 6 months and I cannot get it out my hair at all,I have tried different shampoos and temperature washed and nothing works. I couldn’t see any o difference at all when I died it and neither could people around me however, now it’s given me awful roots and I regret it will never buy this again.

I have light to medium brown hair, and I was afraid of purchasing this dye due to many of the reviews stating it makes your hair ginger if you’re light brown. But I actually didn’t have this issue and it looks lovely, I’ve had so many compliments on the colour of my hair. Would definitely use again!

Like many reviewers, I am trying to find a colour to replace Sweet Honey (why on earth did they stop that?). This is not it. It's a dull, medium brown. Not at all blonde. Had to re-colour my hair the next day to try (without much success) to cover this up.

Go to a great hairdresser but in view of lockdown needed something when the roots grew through. I bought this a month ago & found it fabulous - great colour & the condition of my has been fabulous!

Applied this dye back in November and still have a hard regrowth line (I used semi to avoid this)
The color was quite a deep bright red, not dark blonde (hence why want it to wash out)
I have used high quality clarifying shampoos and purple shampoos to try and mellow it out.
Not happy with this product.

I used to love Boots botanical
semi-permanent hair colour but when they stopped production, I found Casting Crème to be the best alternative. My hair is almost as soft as with the botanical one. The colour is good and it is easy to use.

I was looking for a temp colour over lockdown to perk up my mousy brown hair, please note this product contains a bleaching agent which strips your natural hair colour for the ‘temp’ colour to go on. Disappointed as I had grown my hair over lockdown only to damage with t his product. Might be fine if your looking for a perm solution

First time to try this it did an ok job on the roots but it certainly didn’t come out blonde as the pack showed more of a dirty grey blonde a bit better after 3 washes pity

They've changed this colour to a ginger!

Have used this colour for years. It used to come out a really dark colour brown on me, that looked really nice and gradually lighten.
What have they done to it!. It is now a great nger colour that looks awful. I did think twice when purchasing due to the picture on box showing as ginger. But went ahead and purchased two boxes.
Never again. Will now have to go and purchase a light brown.
Will not be using L'Oréal this time or ever again.
Why didn't they leave the colour alone!!

I buy this product regularly - it gives an attractive colour wash on my grey/dark brown hair. The only problem is the gloves provided - they are too small (I take size medium in rubber gloves).

Great First At-Home Results

My natural colour is medium-brown/auburn with most of my greys at my temples and around my hairline. Because I first started having my hair glossed at the salon with L'Oréal Dark Blonde I was pretty confident it would work well for me. Used this at-home option for the first time today and I'm very pleased with the results. I would recommend doing the patch test (you'll never be sorry you did) and follow all the instructions on the leaflet (even if the procedure is slightly different from the salon). I also used the Boots hair dye kit (bowl, brush and beaker) when applying this product and I think it helped me catch the greys around my hairline more effectively. L'Oréal suggest that if you are trying to choose between shades, go with the lighter one. Dark Blonde might be a good first try if you have light to medium brown hair.

I bought this after having my hair semi permanently coloured at a salon & thought I’ll have a try for myself. The result was quite nice however it only covered my grey hair for 5-6 weeks. As I only wash my hair every other day that equated to 12-15 washes. Also the smell of the honey conditioner is overpowering. I’m going to now use it every 6 weeks instead of a possible 8 weeks.

This product is great especially if you're slightly nervous about dying your hair darker, it's not overpowering. Having used this brand several times I would definitely confirm that it always comes out darker than you think on the box. Having experienced what it's like to go far too dark by mistakenly looking at the front cover, I decided to read up to give myself a guide for the number reference rather than the front picture.
This was new knowledge for me and it was really a lot easier to make an informed decision when thinking of the numbers as a chart guide. 1 being black and 10 being blonde. I read up a bit more and for this brand I put a decimal after the first number to help me distinguish a better idea of what the colour would turn out like. The first number being an indication of light to dark and the second an idea for the tones (green to red or ash to warm). So 613 -Iced Latte would be towards the brown shades and then 1 indicating an ashy tone, compared to 630 -Caramel being again brown shades but with much more of a warm tone to it and so on.
Personally wanted to dye over the slight blonde piercing through at the bottom of my hair, rather than all over. The majority of my hair was my natural colour which I would class as dark brown. I am really happy with the colour match. Despite reading 'dark blonde' on the cover it has matched my hair really well, has covered the blonde and most importantly has avoided being too dark.
